Yeah, I checked the list out mostly be Kim regurgitating it to me and I found it hilarious and, frankly, mostly true. It surely isn't a picture of middle-class or below white America for the most part, but, come on, it is a pretty clear caricature of the prototypical
upwardly mobile white person. Hell, I fall into many of those categories and it made me laugh to think that I do. Expensive sandwiches, bikes, dogs, Mos Def (Tavis Smiley, personally), and all those entries are pure gold. That blog has made me hyper-aware of how "white" everyone I know is!
i think anything that makes us as hyper-aware of our own whiteness as we are of other people's race/ethnicity is a good thing for us. time to stop feeling like we're the universal or default and/or seeing non-whites as "other."
That site is hilariously dead-on; I have "threatened" to move to Canada a jillion times....
